Demonstration over controversial education law to be held in Madrid on November 22 with more protests scheduled nationwide; avoid all demonstrations as a precaution

The 'Mas Plurales' alliance of student associations, labor unions, and civil society groups are scheduled to hold nationwide protests in the coming days, with a caravan protest due to take place in Madrid on Sunday, November 22; the demonstrations are being held in protest of a controversial education law. In the capital, a caravan protest will begin from Plaza de Cibeles at 11:00 (local time), from which participants will head to Cuzco. Reports state that between November 22-28 additional caravan protests will be held in 30 provinces nationwide. 

Although the protests are expected to pass peacefully, a heightened police presence and transportation disruptions are expected in the vicinity of the demonstrations. Clashes between protesters and police cannot be ruled out.
