Vietnamese authorities announced on Friday, November 6, for coastal provinces to prepare for the arrival of Tropical Storm Atsani, forecast to make landfall in the central area of the country between Sunday and Monday, November 8 and 9. The Central Steering Committee on Disaster Prevention and Control has asked local authorities from Quang Ninh to Phu Yen to brace for effects from the storm. The impact varies depending on the intensity of the storm system, as well as the topographical orientation of the affected area(s) and the observance of existing disaster preparedness programs.
Advice
Those in affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, anticipate transportation disruptions, avoid areas directly affected by flooding, confirm road conditions before setting out, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities, including evacuation orders.
