Tropical Storm Etau is forecast to make landfall near Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa province) on Tuesday, November 10. The storm is expected to weaken slightly as it tracks westwards and will likely be a weak tropical storm or tropical depression as it makes landfall. Etau will continue to track across southern Vietnam and into Cambodia on Wednesday, November 11, before weakening into a post-topical cyclone.

Etau is forecast to bring 200-400 mm (8-16 in) of rainfall to southern areas as the storm passes, accompanied by strong winds and possible storm surge. Associated flooding, landslides, and disruptions to transport, business, and utilities are possible during the passing of the storm.

Tropical depressions, storms, and typhoons are common from June to October, posing a considerable threat to human populations and infrastructure.
