Political activists plan to stage a vehicular protest march through central Sofia on Dec. 4. The purpose of the event is to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. Participants will gather in front of the Bulgarian National Bank starting at 1500 before driving across Eagles Bridge to the Vrana Park-Museum. The Poison Trio, an opposition group that gained notoriety for leading anti-corruption protests against the current administration, is organizing the event. Previous Poison Trio-sponsored events have drawn large crowds.
Authorities will most likely deploy additional security personnel to monitor the protest. Ground travel disruptions are likely in central Sofia on the afternoon of Nov. 9. The protest will probably remain peaceful.
