Moderate TS Bongoyo weakens rapidly in the southwestern Indian Ocean Dec. 10. Impacts to Mauritius and Reunion no longer likely.
Event
Moderate Tropical Storm Bongoyo continues to rapidly weaken as it tracks westwards in the southwestern Indian Ocean, Dec. 10. As of 1000 MUT, the storm's center of circulation was 1,940 km (1,205 miles) east of Port Louis, Mauritius. Forecast models indicate the system will continue to rapidly weaken and dissipate in the Indian Ocean by late Dec. 11. As a result, impacts associated with Bongoyo are no longer a threat to Mauritius and Reunion.
