The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) plans to impose water supply outages in parts of Colombo from 0900 Dec. 19 to 0300 Dec. 20. Areas in Colombo, specifically zones 1, 2, 10, and 12, are expected to have water services suspended during the outage. Low water pressure may impact customers in zones 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9. The NWSDB says urgent maintenance work will prompt the disruptions.
Business disruptions are possible during the outage, especially for companies that depend on large quantities of municipal water to maintain operations.

Stock up on drinking water in advance. Confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Pressure and water quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes.
