Mass Transit Railway (MTR) is carrying out maintenance work on the East Rail Line Jan. 10. Authorities have suspended operations on the line between Mong Kok East and Hung Hom stations through the end of service early Jan. 11. MTR officials have warned of longer traveling times throughout the affected area. The transport company is offering an alternative shuttle service between Hung Hom and Kowloon Tong stations, but the service does not stop at Mong Kok East Station.
Increased demand for alternative transport is likely. Localized traffic congestion is possible in affected neighborhoods.
