As of Jan. 19, authorities in Uganda restored partial internet access after implementing a shutdown of the service ahead of the Jan. 14 elections. Authorities continue to block social media platforms. It remains unclear when the ban will be lifted and full internet service will be restored. Authorities could impose new internet restrictions at any time.
