Vietnam: Quang Ninh Province continues to enforce COVID-19 measures as of March 8 /update 3
Authorities in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, continue to enact COVID-19 rules as of March 8. Internal tourism has resumed.
Event
Officials in Quang Ninh Province continue to enforce COVID-19 restrictions as of March 8. Van Don International Airport (VDO) resumed domestic flights March 3 with temperature checks and other protocols in place. People can enter Quang Ninh, though tourism visits by nonresidents remain suspended. Passengers entering or leaving the province must adhere to controls, such as completing health declaration forms.
Authorities have eased internal restrictions, such as allowing Quang Ninh residents to visit the province's tourism sites, as of March 8. The provincial government has allowed local officials to determine whether the locality's COVID-19 situation was suitable for reopening nonessential businesses, though some localities like Dong Trieu continue to ban such businesses. Gatherings like conferences, seminars, and weddings may take place with safeguards in place.
Security personnel will likely remain deployed in the province to enforce the remaining controls and conduct health screenings. Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
