Government employees plan to protest in Khorramshahr, Iran, April 19. Increased security, localized transport disruptions likely.

Employees of Khorramshahr Municipality plan to protest at Motahhari Square in Khorramshahr, Khuzestan Province, from 10:00 April 19, over a series of grievances, including alleged corruption, discrimination as well as the late payment of salaries. Dozens to a hundred individuals could attend the event.
Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near Motahhari Square, the morning of April 19. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or if they ignore police orders to disperse.
Khorramshahr is located approximately 110 km (68 miles) southwest of Ahvaz.
