Flight disruptions possible May 21 due to air traffic controllers' strike at Tegucigalpa's Toncontin International Airport in Honduras.

Flight disruptions remain possible as of May 21 at Toncontin International Airport (TGU) in Tegucigalpa, due to a strike by air traffic controllers. On May 20, multiple flights scheduled to travel via TGU were reportedly redirected to El Salvador as they were unable to land due to the ongoing strike.
It remains unclear if operations at TGU will fully resume May 21. The strike has been mainly coordinated by The Association of Meteorologists of Honduras (ANAMETH) and the Association of Air Traffic Controllers of Honduras (ACTAH). Both associations have reportedly affirmed that normal services would not resume until their demands related to pay and COVID-19 vaccinations were addressed.
Residual cargo and passenger flight disruptions will likely continue at TGU even after the strike ends.
