A magnitude-5.6 earthquake occurred off the western coast of Costa Rica at 18:27 June 10. The epicenter was about 99 km (62 miles) south of Samara. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 10 km (6 miles) and light-to-moderate shaking was probably felt throughout western Costa Rica, including San Jose.
