Wallis and Futuna: Authorities further ease domestic controls from July 1 /update 10

Officials have marginally eased some domestic COVID-19 controls from July 1; the measures are set to remain in place until July 15. Public gatherings of up to 100 people are now authorized. Facemasks remain required in indoor public venues, along with Hihifo Airport (WLS) and the quays in Mata Utu and Leava; facemasks are no longer required in other outdoor areas. Nonessential businesses have reopened with capacity limits of 50-percent at most venues. Previous restrictions on domestic travel have been lifted.

Travel Restrictions
The border remains effectively closed to most travelers, as international commercial passenger flights and ships remain banned. However, officials permit flights from New Caledonia. Visitors from New Caledonia and resident French nationals can enter the territory with a travel certificate completed before boarding. Permitted travelers must undergo a COVID-19 test within 72 hours of departure.
