Security forces reportedly opened fire near the Health Centre III in Kikamulo, Nakaseke District Aug. 26. An unspecified number of people, including journalists, have been injured. Clashes allegedly began when police attempted to arrest the wife of high-profile opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (also known as Bobi Wine). Further details are unavailable.
Kikamulo is located approximately 55 km (34 miles) north-northwest of Kampala.
Authorities will almost certainly maintain an increased security presence in the affected area through at least Aug. 26. Further clashes remain possible.
