Event

Utility officials in Kampala stated Aug. 10 that water supply in Kungu, parts of Najjera, and the surrounding areas has been disrupted due to a technical fault. Restoration efforts are ongoing; however, utility officials did not say when they expect to resume normal operations.

Similar temporary disruptions occurred Aug. 9 in the Nyanama, Zana, Seguku, Katale, Bunamwaya Nfufu, Namasuba, Lubowa, Kitiko, Bunamwaya Kisigula, Nalumunye, Bandwe, and Buddo areas, and parts of Kitebi, and Mutundwe areas of Kampala due to an emergency fault.

Advice

Plan for service disruptions and monitor official sources for updates. Stock up on water supplies in advance. Pressure and water quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygiene purposes.
