The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado warning for central Spartanburg County, northwestern Laurens County, and southeastern Greenville County, South Carolina, including the City of Spartanburg, effective until at least 18:45 EDT Aug. 17. Damaging winds, hail, frequent lightning, heavy rain, and flash flooding are possible.

The weather warning could be extended or expanded at short notice.
