Short-term movement disruptions are possible in Chernivtsi Region through Sept. 9 during police security exercises. The exercises, which began Sept. 7, will involve a visibly increased security presence, as well as the introduction of additional checkpoints on major roads and spot identification checks for travelers. The exercise appears to be a routine readiness check, rather than a response to a specific threat.

The exercises could prompt minor ground transport delays in the Chernvitsi Region. Routes could be temporarily closed at short notice to facilitate the drills.

Allow additional time for overland transport in the Chernvitsi Region through Sept. 9. Remain polite with members of the security forces and produce identification when requested.. Liaise with local contacts and media regarding route status before travel.
