Wallis and Futuna: Authorities maintaining reduced COVID-19 restrictions as of Sept. 27 /update 13
Wallis and Futuna continuing domestic COVID-19 measures as of Sept. 27. Flights with New Caledonia remain suspended.
Event
Officials continue to implement COVID-19 restrictions as of Sept. 27. Officials allow public gatherings of up to 100 people. Nonessential businesses have reopened at 50-percent capacity at most venues. The government has lifted previous restrictions on domestic travel. Officials require people to wear facemasks in indoor venues where social distancing is impossible, in school transport, on airplanes, at Hihifo Airport (WLS), and Mata Utu and Leava quays.
Travel Restrictions
The border remains effectively closed to most travelers, as international commercial passenger flights and ships remain banned from most locations. Visitors from New Caledonia and resident French nationals can enter the territory via New Caledonia with a travel certificate completed before boarding. However, flights from New Caledonia remain suspended until further notice; occasional repatriation flights and cargo flights are likely. Permitted travelers must undergo a COVID-19 test on the day of departure and quarantine for 14 days.
