Belgium: Authorities lift security measures after arresting suspect in Waregem Oct. 7 /update 1

Authorities have lifted all security measures in Waregem, approximately 25 km (15 miles) southwest of Ghent, after arresting an armed individual who had been walking near a high school in the town. Authorities had initially put schools on lockdown and instructed some 12,000 people to stay indoors the afternoon of Oct. 7.

Minor residual disruptions are possible as authorities complete their investigation into the incident.
