Honduras: Officials have eased COVID-19-related restrictions as of Oct. 4 /update 64
Honduras has eased domestic COVID-19-related controls as of Oct. 4; international travel restrictions remain in effect.
Event
Authorities in Honduras have lifted the 22:00-05:00 nightly curfew and eased other COVID-19-related restrictions as of Oct. 4. However, after 22:00 individuals must have a vaccination certificate to be allowed in public, and businesses are required to ask customers to show proof of vaccination to enter their establishments after 22:00. Bars, nightclubs, discotheques must remain closed, and concerts and fairs remain canceled. Authorities will allow 50 percent capacity at upcoming games of the national soccer team Oct. 7 and Oct. 13, but all attendees must have a vaccination certificate. Public beaches will be open until 19:00 between Oct. 6-10.
Other restrictions remain unchanged. All banks, supermarkets, shopping centers, and stores nationwide are limited to a maximum of 50 percent capacity. Businesses that are allowed to operate must ensure that all patrons wear protective facemasks, use hand sanitizer, and practice social distancing. Social gatherings are limited to no more than 10 people.
International Travel Restrictions
Travelers must present a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival in Honduras; travelers who can prove having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days before travel are exempt from the testing requirement. Travelers arriving via air and land must also complete a pre-arrival (prechequeo) travel form. All arrivals may be subject to additional COVID-19 testing. Those who present symptoms, test positive for COVID-19, or have been in contact with a person suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 may be required to quarantine. Wearing a facemask is required at all times while traveling.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, tighten, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on local disease activity.
Advice
Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions.
