Authorities are maintaining COVID-19-related international travel restrictions as of Oct. 21.
Travel Restrictions
All travelers will be allowed entry provided they present a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours. Travelers from the Americas, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand must provide a negative result from a PCR test taken within the previous 96 hours prior to departure for Sudan. Persons eight years of age and younger are exempt from the testing requirement.
Mandatory quarantine measures have been lifted for all arriving travelers. However, passengers who fail to provide a negative result from a PCR test will be subject to a 14-day quarantine period at their own cost.
COVID-19-related restrictions applying to travel across land borders have been largely lifted; however, the eastern border with Ethiopia remains closed due to insecurity in northern Ethiopia.
Domestic Restrictions
No domestic restrictions are in effect.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
