Honduras: Officials maintain most COVID-19-related measures as of Jan. 27 /update 68

Event

The government of Honduras is maintaining most COVID-related domestic and travel controls as of Jan. 27.

Domestic Measures
Between 22:00-05:00, individuals must have a vaccination certificate to be in public and businesses must ask customers to show proof of vaccination to enter their establishments. Bars and nightclubs must remain closed while concerts and fairs remain banned. Authorities will likely reinforce the current restrictions as a safeguard against the Omicron variant.

All banks, supermarkets, shopping centers, and stores nationwide remain subject to capacity limits. Businesses that are allowed to operate must ensure that all patrons wear protective facemasks, use hand sanitizer, and practice social distancing. Social gatherings are limited to no more than 10 people.

International Travel Restrictions
International travel restrictions remain generally unchanged. Travelers must present a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival in Honduras; those who can prove having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days before travel are exempt from the testing requirement. All travelers arriving via air and land must also complete a pre-arrival (prechequeo) travel form. All arrivals may be subject to additional COVID-19 testing.

Those who present symptoms, test positive for COVID-19, or have been in contact with a person suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 may be required to quarantine for up to 14 days. Wearing a facemask is required at all times while traveling.

Incoming passengers may be asked to give details of the countries they have visited in the 30 days; officials have implemented stricter health screening procedures at all ports of entry.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, tighten, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on local disease activity.

Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions.
