Police have apprehended a soldier in connection with an earlier shooting at the Yuzhny Machine-Building Plant in Dnipro Jan. 27. The suspect was captured in the town of Pidhorodne, 17 km (11 miles) north of the industrial area where the plant is located, after a major manhunt. Four soldiers and a civilian were killed and several others were wounded in the earlier shooting; the suspect was detained unharmed.

Heightened security and related disruptions will likely persist in the immediate term as security forces conclude operations.
