US: Tornado watch in effect for parts of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama until 21:00 EST Jan. 2

Authorities could extend or expand the weather advisory at short notice.

Localized transport and utility disruptions are possible in areas under the tornado watch; strong straight-line winds may pose a hazard to high-profile vehicles. Driving conditions may be difficult on rural routes and regional highways.
