Ultranationalist groups plan to hold the annual Lukov March in central Sofia Feb. 12. Participants will gather outside the National Palace of Culture from 17:30 before marching toward Ulitsa Trakia 1 and the surrounding area. Anti-fascist activists plan to stage a counterprotest outside the Central Mineral Baths from 12:30 the same day. Hundreds may participate in the demonstrations.
Heightened security, as well as localized business and transport disruptions, are likely in central Sofia through Feb. 12. Clashes between police and protesters or between rival groups are possible.
