The Ukrainian government declared martial law for 30 days Feb. 24 following Russian military strikes across eastern areas of the country. Borders remain open but authorities are prohibiting strikes, rallies, and mass events. Under martial law, the government is allowed to implement special border controls, curfews, and evacuate residents from dangerous areas if necessary.

Russian military strikes continue to be reported in Dnipro, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, Mariupol, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhia. According to Ukrainian officials, Russian operations are targeting military infrastructure. There are unconfirmed reports of strikes targeting airfields in Ivano-Frankivsk and Lutsk. Russian and Belarusian soldiers are also reportedly crossing into Ukraine near Senkivka. Additionally, the Ukrainian border guard service is claiming that Russian soldiers are crossing the border from Crimea. In Kharkiv, the mayor is warning citizens to not leave their homes. The Ukrainian government has yet to confirm casualty figures from the strikes.

Civilian aviation is suspended in Ukraine. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is warning against flying in areas bordering Russia and Belarus due to military activities.

There are some reports of internet disruptions in Kharkiv. Telecommunication and internet disruptions may spread to other regions over the coming hours and days.
