Authorities in Wallis and Futuna are maintaining COVID-19 restrictions as of Feb. 16.
Domestic Measures
The government allows public gatherings of up to 100 people, and nonessential businesses have reopened at 50-percent capacity at most venues. Domestic travel curbs have ended. Officials require people to wear facemasks in indoor venues where social distancing is impossible, on school transport and airplanes, at Hihifo Airport (WLS), and Mata Utu and Leava quays. Violators are subject to fines and legal action.
International Travel Restrictions
Wallis and Futuna continues to ban most international commercial passenger flights and ships, effectively closing the border for most travelers. However, officials allow weekly flights from New Caledonia. Individuals with urgent personal or business matters can apply for entry with supporting documentation. Authorities will prioritize fully vaccinated travelers. Permitted arrivals must hold negative results of a PCR test taken within 48 hours before departure and undergo a rapid antigen test on the day of departure.
Authorities require entrants to quarantine in New Caledonia for 14 days before entry in addition to a three-day hotel quarantine hotel upon arrival. Entrants must receive a negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test on day three to exit quarantine.
