Turks and Caicos Islands: Authorities ease COVID-19 domestic restrictions March 1 /update 36
As of March 1, officials in Turks and Caicos ease COVID-19-related domestic restrictions. Travel requirements remain mostly unchanged.
Event
Authorities in the Turks and Caicos Islands have issued orders to ease multiple COVID-19 related restrictions as of March 1. Under the new directives, most businesses and places of worship may operate without capacity limits, and social gatherings with over 100 people are allowed but require permission from health officials. Customers at restaurants, bars, or nightclubs are no longer required to show proof of vaccination or of a negative COVID-19 test. Additionally, the requirement for travelers entering the islands to be vaccinated is now for individuals 18 years and older (in contrast with the previous requirement for people 16 years and older). These measures will remain in place until at least March 31.
Domestic Measures
Other than the aforementioned measures, individuals must continue to wear facemasks in indoor public settings; the use of facemasks is recommended outdoors when in close proximity to others.
International Travel Restrictions
All arriving passengers must continue to obtain an online pre-travel authorization by providing a negative result from a PCR, antigen, or other accepted COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours before arrival and a completed health screening questionnaire. Additionally, all visitors must have proof of insurance that covers COVID-19 medical costs. All arrivals aged 18 years and older must be fully vaccinated. Children under 2 years of age are exempt from testing requirements. It is advised that travelers complete and upload the pre-travel authorization at least 24 hours before boarding.
Returning residents who have not been fully vaccinated must quarantine for 10 days upon arrival, and take an additional test on day seven.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on local disease activity.
