Police are responding to a shooting incident that occurred in the vicinity of the Fairview Mall, near the intersection of Geneva Street and North Service Road, in Saint Catharines, Ontario, May 11. At least one person was shot in the incident and two others were injured when sprayed by an unidentified substance. Police have not made any arrests and continue to search for the suspects, who are believed to no longer be in the area. The mall has reportedly been cleared and is not in lockdown.

Heightened security and localized transport and business disruptions are likely in the affected area over the coming hours.

Saint Catharines is located east of Hamilton, Ontario, and west of the Canadian border with the US State of New York.
