Honduras: Protesters block CA-5 Highway near Tegucigalpa May 30

Protesters have gathered along CA-5 Highway, also known as Carretera del Sur, located to the south of Tegucigalpa, May 30. Participants blocked a section of the highway outside Escuela Ruben Martinez Rodas in the Germania area. Significant traffic delays along the highway are likely; disruptions may also impact traffic to and from Toncontin International Airport (TGU). The participants are demanding improvements to the infrastructure of a local school.

Police will likely deploy to the area. Transport disruptions are likely to continue in the vicinity of the protest. Isolated low-level skirmishes are possible.
