Malta: Authorities ease COVID-19 international entry restrictions as of May 10 /update 37

Malta eases certain COVID-19-related international entry restrictions from May 10.

Authorities in Malta are easing some COVID-19 international entry restrictions. As of May 10, authorities no longer classify other countries as red or dark red. All incoming travelers, regardless of their country of origin, no longer require a pre-travel authorization. All travelers above the age of six need to present a valid COVID-19 vaccination or recovery certificate or a negative test. Authorities accept PCR tests no older than 72 hours prior to arrival and antigen tests no older than 24 hours prior to arrival.

Domestic Restrictions
Businesses and services can operate subject to certain health requirements. Facemasks are only remain mandatory on flights and in hospitals.

All restrictions are subject to amendment at short notice in response to government reviews.

Advice

Confirm all travel plans and business appointments. Follow all official directives. Abide by national health and safety measures. Carry proper identification and other necessary travel documents to present at security checks; remain polite and nonconfrontational with border officials. Maintain contact with your diplomatic representation. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions. Consider delaying travel if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19.
