At least 11 people were killed and five others injured in an armed attack in the Lindavista neighborhood of Celaya city in Guanajuato state on May 23. Armed individuals forced their way into Hotel Gala on Azalea Street at around 22:00 before opening fire and exploding incendiary devices in two bars in the area. The assailants reportedly left a note identifying themselves as members of the Santa Rosa de Lima cartel.
