The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado warning for parts of the North Carolina-South Carolina border area effective until at least 19:45 EDT May 23. Areas under the tornado warning include southeastern Rutherford County, North Carolina; southwestern Cleveland County, N.C.; northeastern Spartanburg County, South Carolina; and northwestern Cherokee County, S.C. The weather warning could be extended or expanded at short notice.
