Unionized transport workers at Bangladesh's Benapole land port - the busiest border crossing for trade between the country and India - have ended their work stoppage as of June 9. Organizers began the action June 8 to demand improvements in equipment and staffing, among others. The labor action suspended most import-export activities at the border through the evening of June 8.

Lingering cargo transport disruptions are apossible as operators clear backlogs.

The Benapole land port is approximately 32 km (20 miles) southwest of Jashore city, Bangladesh.
