Rail service disruptions between Dhaka and Sylhet are possible after a train collided with a vehicle in the Raipura area, in Dhaka Division, earlier June 4. The Jantika Express was traveling from Sylhet to Dhaka when it hit a vehicle at a level crossing near Amirganj station. At least three occupants in the vehicle were killed in the collision.

Emergency personnel have deployed to the scene. Rail service disruptions are possible in the impact area through the remainder of June 4. Demand for alternative transport and congestion on alternative routes is likely. Ground transport delays may occur as clearance works and investigations continue.

The incident site is approximately 45 km (28 miles) northeast of Dhaka.
