Activists have launched a demonstration and built roadblocks along Calle 30 (Avenida Boyaca), in Barranquilla, early June 13, to protest ongoing problems at the ITIDA school. Calle 30 is the main access road to Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport (BAQ), located approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) south of the protest site.
Transport disruptions are ongoing in the area and are likely to continue for the coming hours. Security personnel will almost certainly deploy to the protest site, and may try to dismantle the roadblocks; violence is possible. Access to BAQ may be impeded.
