Internet, mobile, and telephone service outages due to a technical fault are affecting parts of Sudurpaschim Province as of June 9. Districts including Achham, Baitadi, Bajhang, Bajura, Dadeldhura, Darchula, and Doti are experiencing disruptions since 14:00 June 7. Officials have not stated when services will normalize.
Commercial disruptions are likely, especially if operations rely heavily on internet access. Communication and security systems dependent on internet connectivity may also be affected. Interruptions to online services provided by private and government entities, including app-based transport booking and food delivery, are possible. Processing delays may occur at regional domestic airports such as Accham (FEB) and Bajura (BJU).
The affected area is approximately 165 km (103 miles) northeast of Nepalgunj.
