Colombia: Pride marches scheduled in multiple locations July 3

Activists to march in multiple locations throughout Colombia, July 3, in support of LGBTQ rights.

Activists plan to demonstrate in multiple locations throughout Colombia to show support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) rights, July 3.

The largest demonstration is likely to occur in Bogota, where individuals plan to gather at Parque Nacional, starting at 14:00, and from there march to Plaza de Bolivar. A rally is expected there until at least 22:00.

There are scheduled marches in the following locations:

  • Barranquilla: March from Parque Luis Carlos Galan to Plaza de la Paz, 14:00

  • Cali: March from Coliseo del Pueblo to the western side of the city, 14:00

  • Medellin: March from La Alpujarra to Obelisco Mall, 11:00

  • Pereira: March from Makro to Plaza Civica Ciudad Victoria, 14:00

Tens of thousands are likely to participate in most of the marches, especially in Bogota, and Medellin. Heightened security is likely throughout the marches routes, as are transport and business disruptions.

Plan accordingly for traffic congestion and allow additional time to travel if transiting near the impacted cities, July 3.
