Unions representing ground staff at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) have called for a strike July 8-10 to demand improved pay and working conditions. It remains unclear how many employees will participate in the work stoppage. However, similar stoppages at CDG and Paris Orly Airport (ORY) June 30-July 3 resulted in significant disruptions to flights and airport operations.
Short-notice flight delays and cancelations are likely at CDG for the duration of the labor action. Staffing shortages could cause delays during check-in and clearing security. Disruptions could persist into July 11 as airport authorities and carriers reposition aircraft and resolve passenger backlogs.
