Event
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) activists plan to hold a rally and a march in Budapest July 23. Participants will gather from 14:00 at Drava Utca, and then from 15:00 march to Szabadsag Ter (Liberty Square), arriving there at approximately 17:00. Events will conclude around 20:00.
Counterprotests by groups opposed to the event are possible. Heightened security is almost certain at the march and any possible counterprotests. Localized transport disruptions are likely in affected areas. Public transit routes and schedules may change during the planned events.
Advice
Consider alternate driving routes to circumvent announced parade locations July 23. Plan accordingly for localized transport disruptions and allow additional time to reach nearby destinations. Heed all instructions of security personnel.
