Iran: Activists plan to protest in Baneh July 28

Activists plan to demonstrate outside the Baneh Governorate in Baneh, Kurdistan Province, from 10:00 July 28. Protesters are denouncing the recent killing of a kulbar, or Kurdish porter, by Iranian border guards. Dozens to hundreds of individuals could attend the event.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the Baneh Governorate the morning of July 28. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or if they ignore police orders to disperse.

Baneh is approximately 235 km (146 miles) south of Tabriz.
