Emergency responders are continuing their rescue efforts as of July 24 after heavy rainfall prompted flash flooding in central parts of Estahban county, Fars Province, July 22-23. The flooding killed at least 22 people. Casualty figures could rise; as of the afternoon of July 24, several people remain missing.

River levels may continue to rise over the coming days before finally receding. Protracted transport and business disruptions are almost certain as responders continue their efforts; lingering utility disruptions are possible. Driving conditions may be difficult on rural routes and regional highways.
