Officials at Mae Fah Luang - Chiang Rai International Airport (CEI) in Chiang Rai have closed the runway through at least 22:00 Aug. 3. The disruptions are occurring after a Nok Air (DD) passenger plane skidded off the runway during heavy rainfall late July 30. Officials had previously announced disruptions July 31 but extended the disruptions to allow time to remove the aircraft off the runway. No casualties were reported in the incident.

Flight disruptions will almost certainly continue at CEI through at least Aug. 3.
