Wallis and Futuna: Authorities to reduce quarantine requirements from July 11 /update 22
Wallis and Futuna to further ease quarantine requirements from July 11. Domestic measures ongoing.
Event
Authorities in Wallis and Futuna plan to ease quarantine rules for inbound passengers from July 11, allowing arrivals to self-quarantine for three days at home or their accommodations instead of designated hotels. Officials will also ease testing requirements, with travelers able to exit quarantine on day three with a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) result instead of a PCR test. The government intends to lift quarantine measures from Aug. 8.
Domestic Measures
Officials require people to wear facemasks on public transport, including flights, and transport hubs, such as Hihifo Airport (WLS) and Mata Utu and Leava quays. Social distancing measures are also in effect, but enforcement is likely uneven. Violators are subject to fines and legal action.
International Travel Restrictions
Wallis and Futuna allows entry for fully vaccinated international travelers via flights from New Caledonia. Unvaccinated travelers from all locations must continue to provide a compelling reason for travel. Permitted arrivals must hold negative results from a PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure and a RAT on the day of departure.
