Officials in Bermuda ease the island's COVID-19-related entry restrictions as of Aug. 22.

Informational

Event

As of Aug. 22, authorities in Bermuda are easing the island's COVID-19-related entry restrictions. Unvaccinated travelers will now be allowed to visit Bermuda, without proof of medical exemption. Regardless of vaccination status, all travelers will need a valid pre-arrival test taken no more than two days before arrival and proof of overseas health insurance. Fully vaccinated passengers must take either a COVID-19 NAAT test no more than four days before arrival or a supervised antigen test no more than two days before arrival. Passengers not fully vaccinated must take either a COVID-19 NAAT test taken no more than two days before arrival or a supervised antigen test no more than two days before arrival. Visitors flying to Bermuda who are not fully vaccinated will also have to take a COVID-19 test four days after arrival. Still, they will not be required to quarantine or undergo further testing.

Domestic measures remain unchanged.

Domestic Measures
Facemasks are required in certain indoor spaces, including public transportation, healthcare centers, and airports.

International Travel Restrictions
Unchanged requirements for travelers entering from international destinations are as follows:

  • All individuals, including residents wishing to travel to Bermuda, must apply for government authorization by completing an online form one to three days before departure.

  • For children two to 11 years old, their test and quarantine requirements are based on the vaccination status of their parents.

  • Visitors should also have insurance that covers COVID-19 treatment and hospitalization or be responsible for all health and accommodation costs.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, or further ease restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.

Advice

Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions.
