Power outages to continue in parts of Phnom Penh area, Cambodia, through Aug. 7 due to maintenance work. Disruptions possible.

Power outages will continue in parts of Phnom Penh and surrounding areas through Aug. 7 due to maintenance work. Utility provider Electricite du Cambodge has announced outages on the following days:
Aug. 5: Outages will occur in Prek Pnov District of Phnom Penh 08:00-13:00. Disruptions are planned in Sen Sok, Po Sen Chey, and Kambol districts in Phnom Penh as well as Takhmao City and Ang Snoul District, Kandal Province, 08:00-16:00.
Aug. 6: Power disruptions will impact Dangkor District 08:00-13:00. Disruptions are also planned in Po Sen Chey, Prek Pnov, and Kambol districts in Phnom Penh, 08:00-16:00.
Aug. 7: Electricity disruptions will occur in Chroy Changva and Chbar Ampov districts 08:00-16:00.
Disruptions to business and telecommunications, including cellular and mobile services, may occur. Transport disruptions are possible in areas with malfunctioning traffic signals. Power outages could result in the temporary unavailability of essential services, such as ATMs and filling stations. Blackouts could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems and electronic fences; opportunistic criminal activity could increase during electricity outages.
Advice
Charge all communication and portable electronic devices when possible. Unplug electronic equipment that is not connected to surge protectors. Exercise caution when driving in areas affected by power outages. Confirm business appointments. Verify that security systems are working, including after power is restored. Ensure that generators are functional and fully fueled.
