Emergency crews are responding to a collision between a train and a car at a level crossing near Kiskunhalas on the morning of Sept. 5. The incident occurred as the train was traveling between Kiskunhalas and Kunfeherto around 05:10. The five occupants of the vehicle were killed, and the driver of the train injured in the collision; no train passengers were reported injured.
Rail services between Kiskunhalas and Kunfeherto have been suspended, while rail services between Kecskemet and Baja are experiencing lengthy delays. Disruptions will likely continue over the coming hours; however, authorities have begun providing alternative bus services to circumvent the accident scene.
