Authorities at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) have announced flight delays are likely from 16:00-23:00 Sept. 12 due to high passenger volumes and security staff shortages. Long queues are reported in Departure halls 1 and 3. Authorities have requested that several airlines cancel some flights scheduled during this time.

In addition to flight disruptions, security staff shortages may result in delays processing passengers. Previous tensions related to security processing delays, on May 22, led to a brawl, prompting police interventions and a wildcat strike by airport security.
