Paraguay: Civic organizations to lead a demonstration in Asuncion Sept. 20

Various civic organizations representing women's rights, youths, and students, among others, will lead a demonstration in Asuncion on Sept. 20. Participants will gather in Plaza Italia around 17:00 before marching to the National Pantheon of Heroes.

Although attendance levels are currently unclear, authorities will likely deploy additional police to monitor and facilitate the protest. Related security measures will likely prompt localized disruptions, including road closures along the march route. Public transport services may also be diverted. Clashes between demonstrators and the security forces are possible if protesters are overly disruptive or ignore orders to disperse.
