Authorities in Memphis, Tennessee, are asking residents to stay indoors if possible as of 20:00 Sept. 7, following a series of shootings in the city. Police are searching for the suspected shooter but stated they do not have a specific location for the suspect.

At least two shootings occurred earlier in the day. Police found one person dead at a fuel station on South Parkway East earlier in the day. Another shooting occurred shortly after on Norris Road near I-240, leaving one victim injured. It is unclear if these incidents are related to the current investigation.

Heightened security, as well as localized business and transport disruptions are likely in the coming hours as officials continue searching for the suspect.
